upon issuing :

ezstream -c /etc/ezstream.xml

I get :

Connecting to http://localhost:8000/stream...FAILED: Socket error

the config file looks like this :

same error occurs if I copy file "stream.mp3" to the "web" folder in the "/usr/share/icecast" folder, or if I use "stream.mp3" instead of the fully qualified file name. password matches source client password in icecast config file. icecast-2.3.1 seems to run as expected. using libshout-2.2 on centos/rhel-4.4. ezstream installed from source, everything else from rpm.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
