Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hi all,

Have an icecast server running. It works w/ ices, plays music fine.

Now, i have ampache setup, to output to MPD, and MPD to stream to Icecast.

What i know is:
- no errors in the mpd.error
- mpd.log show, when i send a song from ampache, "add to playlist", "get song", "queue song" etc.
- the icecast webpage shows the stream data from the mpd.conf file, and lists the song that i queued up from ampache
- when i change the song in ampache, it flows through to icecast, and shows up on the webpage
- the icecast admin lists total_bytes_read and total_bytes_sent as numbers which increase about ever 4 secs, by an amount consistent w/ streaming a song
- can can connect to the stream w/ WinAmp

BUT, no sound. no volume. flatline. bytes are making it to icecast, but no sound is coming out.

any thoughts???

From your description, it sounds like the track is not starting to play. I don't know mpd well enough but it's possible that it could send silence if no other audio is coming in.
