Icecast Streaming Media Server

I hope someone out there can help me, I can't seem to get ices-0.4 to compile with Perl support on Solaris 10. Has anyone been able to do this?

Here is my system setup:

Solaris 10 (1/06 s10s_u1wos_19a SPARC release)
gcc 3.4.3 from Sun (also tried latest gcc3 and gcc4 from blastwave.org)
perl 5.8.4 from Sun (also tried perl 5.8.8 from blastwave.org)


Ices compiles fine with XML, Python, LAME, and Vorbis but when I add Perl it bombs during configure with the following:

checking for perl_construct... no
configure: error: Could not link to perl


A look in the config.log shows:

I only know linux, but looks like your missing some sort of perl development package. In linux it is libperl-dev (or libperl-devel), see if there is something similar for solaris.
